Ontario has steadily expanded what pharmacists can do. As of 2026, a licensed Ontario pharmacist can assess and, when clinically appropriate, prescribe for a defined list of minor ailments - with no doctor's appointment or referral needed.
Minor ailments a pharmacist can treat
