Policies & Procedures
Provided for the public as required by the Ontario College of Pharmacists' Operating Internet Sites policy. Please review with the Designated Manager and adjust to match your pharmacy's actual procedures before launch.
Counselling on new and repeat prescriptions
A licensed pharmacist reviews every assessment. When a prescription is issued, the pharmacist offers counselling on how to take the medication, what to expect, possible side effects, and any interactions, by phone, secure message, or in person. For repeat or renewed prescriptions, the pharmacist confirms the medication is still appropriate and offers counselling again. You may speak with a pharmacist at any time during our consultation hours.
Counselling on over-the-counter (OTC) medications
If your assessment is best managed with a non-prescription product, or if you ask about one, a pharmacist will advise you on a suitable option, how to use it, and when to seek further care. Counselling is always available at no charge.
Dispensing & delivery
If you choose to have us fill your prescription, one of our pharmacies prepares it and can deliver it, often the same day at no extra charge, across the GTA, Durham Region, Halton Region and, in many cases, anywhere in Ontario. Faster delivery (within about two hours of your consultation) may be available for an additional charge within 10 km of one of our partner pharmacies. Deliveries are tracked, and you may always choose to have your prescription sent to a pharmacy of your choice instead.
Payment & billing
The pharmacist assessment is free if you have a valid Ontario health card; without one there is a flat $30 fee. Medication costs are separate and may be covered by your drug plan. We can direct bill most Canadian insurance plans, and accept payment by e-transfer or secure online payment (Visa/Mastercard).
Returns
For everyone's safety and by law, prescription medications and certain other health products cannot be returned or re-dispensed once they have left the pharmacy. If you received the wrong item, a damaged item, or believe there has been a dispensing error, contact us right away and we will make it right.
