Online Doctor in Ontario With No Health Card: Your Options

Not having an Ontario health card doesn't shut you out of care. If you're new to the province, an international or out-of-province student, or visiting, you can still have a common minor ailment assessed and treated online by a licensed Ontario pharmacist.

How it works without OHIP

The online pharmacist assessment is free with a valid Ontario health card, or a flat $30 if you don't have one. That $30 covers the assessment itself; if a medication is prescribed, you pay the usual pharmacy price for it (your travel or drug insurance may reimburse you).

You don't need a doctor or an appointment

A licensed Ontario pharmacist can assess and, when appropriate, prescribe for a wide range of everyday conditions - UTIs, pink eye, cold sores, rashes, hay fever and more. You complete a short online questionnaire and hear back, usually within a day. No family doctor, referral, or booking required.

Prefer to sort out billing later?

You can also start now and provide your health card at the time of the assessment if you have one on the way - the questionnaire has an option for exactly that.

What it can't replace

This is for minor ailments, not emergencies. For urgent or severe symptoms, call 911 or go to an emergency department - Ontario hospitals provide emergency care regardless of health-card status.
